Fruit-Vegetable Toner

Here is a wonderful fruit-vegetable based formula for a skin toner, one that was decoded from an old Mayan text of beauty formulas by a Mexican archaeologist. A good time to make this toner is when the harvest is bountiful. Take 1/4 cup of cucumber juice, 1/8 cup of carrot juice (rich in Vitamin A), 1/2 cup of spearmint infusion, 1/4 cup of chamomile infusion and 1/2 cup of lemon juice (an AHA). Mix the cucumber and carrot juice. Make strong spearmint and chamomile teas, let cool. Combine all the ingredients in a glass jar and blend. You could also freeze into ice cubes and use.

Peach Toner

Nothing sounds more delicious than peaches and cream, especially when used to describe our skin. Well, it turns out that peaches and cream can help us get there: cream is an AHA and peaches contain skin-softening enzymes. Take 2 peaches, peeled and mashed. 1/2 tablespoon of almond or olive oil, and 1 tablespoon of heavy cream. Combine the ingredients in a bowl, mash with a spoon and then stir well to blend. Dab the mixture on your face and allow to stay for 10 minutes or so, then rinse with warm water.
